Everyone’s heard the expression, ‘ignorance is bliss’, but if you’re a business that’s constantly  striving to surpass the competition, taking decisions based on poor data and limited insight, can be catastrophic. Unfortunately, a shortage of relevant or, misleading information, will frequently contribute to costly mistakes that can, over time, impact on the business and the people within it.

We deliver insight findings from various sources, some through desk research (that you might be able to compile yourself), but additionally from secondary sources and research libraries, articles, journals, commissioned market reports and bespoke surveys (many of which are not publicly available).

Of course, just because you possess data doesn’t mean you should count it. Misinterpreting data is as much of an issue for SME’s as not possessing it in the first place. Falsehoods based on what you think you’ve learnt from it i.e., confusing correlation (a connection between two or more things) as causation (the reason something occurs) are incredibly misleading.

Example

An unusual spike of 34% of sales in trekking equipment occurs between October and November. Whilst these sales could have been purely Christmas gift choices for a broad age range of customers, many were in truth the result of a national healthy living campaign targeted at older adults after they returned from domestic summer holidays.
